90’s Collection – Baby Sleep Suit
The colors of the 90’s Collection are not chosen by chance. They are inspired by the 1990s, a decade that shaped all of us.
I grew up in Kuwait, in Al Faiha city, at a time when cartoons were our first window to the world. As kids in the 1990s, animation shaped our imagination before anything else. Every day after school, we moved between worlds, watching global cartoons on Cartoon Network and, in the Gulf, finding our own universe on Space Toon. Shows like Detective Conan and the energy of Action Planet taught us about adventure, and friendship.
This was before social media, before fast internet, before everything was instantly shared or recommended. Culture traveled slowly then, but somehow it still reached all of us. What we watched and loved felt more personal, more memorable.
At the same time, international movies and music quietly became part of our everyday life. Even from far away, global pop & hiphop culture reached us, through TV screens, cassette tapes, and movie rentals. Artists, actors, and musicians like Will Smith with fresh prince of bel air, Summertime and “Na-na na na na-na-na-na” , Michael Jackson with Smooth Criminal and Billie Jean, and MC Hammer with lyrics we didn’t fully understand yet but still felt deeply, shaped what we watched, what we listened to, and even what we wore.
We were just kids, but those cartoons, sounds, and images stayed with us. Different places, different childhoods, yet the same influences, colors, and memories followed us into who we are today.
My co-founder, my wife, grew up in Saudi Arabia, specifically in the Eastern Province, Her childhood was more community driven and local, shaped by family, neighborhood, and shared experiences rather than international exposure.
Yet, while building the 90’s Collection, we discovered something unexpected, Despite our very different childhoods, the colors we remembered were the same, The shades we wore, loved, and recognized were unified across the world.
This was the power of the 1990s, a time when cultures began blending, trends crossed borders, and colors became universal, Even with different upbringings, the same colors reached all of us, That is why the 90’s Collection feels familiar, no matter where you grew up.
Today, as parents, we choose those colors again, this time for our children.
